Still in Cascais!!!!!! OK I know it's not so bad here, but we were hoping to be farther south by now. Since we're travelling with another couple we wanted to wait until ALL systems are "GO" and now our wind indicator at the top of our mast had to be dismantled......(sorry no picture, unfortunately I didn't remember to take the camera with me while hanging in the sling). Wolfgang doesn't "DO" heights, so I volunteered to be hoisted up. Great views, and dizzy-free I navigated thru lines and spreaders past the radar up to the very top; unhooked the instrument and zoomed back down. All the equipment on board is under warranty so the instrument is being checked out by a professional. Name of this game is "wait and see". Once our vessels are in order, the weather also must be in our favour; this doesn't mean sun or no sun, rain or no rain, but rather wind speed, wind direction and wave height we'll be off. Our next stop will be Sines, the birth place of Vasco da Gama, a Portuguese explorer who is famous for being the first to sail from Europe to India.
This past Sunday was another gorgeous day, so the four of us went into town for a little lunch el fresco. Our friend Gerald had a B'day certificate for a "Segway" rental, something I've wanted to try, so I did. It was a battle between Austria and Canada. We had lots of fun and our friend Gaby took the pictures.
Since Feb. 28th is Gerald's & Gaby's wedding anniversary, they wanted to celebrate by eating Shushi. ALL YOU CAN EAT for 15 euro includes ice cream and green tea.

Our wind instrument is fixed, but the weather is not. Rain, hail and high winds have delayed our departure a few days. In addition, Wolfgang has a bronchial infection and not feeling great, so another two days will give me a chance to restock the drinking water and stow away items would otherwise roll around if left out.
Once again it's time to leave our comfortable routine of late morning brunch with cappuccinos and lazy afternoon naps in the sun and head out to sea.
